FAQ & Tips

Wedding Gown Tips
1. Ordering.
Most bridal gowns are handmade and the arrival of your gown may take anywhere from 3 to 4 months depending on the designer. Gowns can be discontinued or chosen for a sample sale with no notice to the bride, so once you find the perfect dress do not hesitate to order it. When ordering, a 50% deposit is required in the form of cash, check or credit card (excluding American Express.) The remaining 50% balance is due before alterations begin.

2. Measurements.
Once you have found the perfect dress and made the decision to place an order, a trained consultant will take careful measurements to ensure the best fit possible. While a size is recommended by our staff, the size choice is always the bride’s decision. Many custom sizing options are available from couture designers for an extra charge, including opening the cup for large chests, adding extra length for tall brides, hollow to hem and more. However, no matter the complexity of measurements, custom fittings are required in most cases for a hem, bustle, nip and tuck.

3. Arrival and Fittings.
Upon the arrival of your bridal gown, it is shipped directly to Arzelle's from the designer, lightly pressed and inspected for any flaws. The bride will then receive a phone call from a bridal consultant, notifying her that the wedding gown has arrived. It is up to the bride to call our custom fitting and pressing department to schedule a fitting. Fittings take from 2-6 weeks and require approximately 3 separate appointments. Rush fittings are available.

Bridesmaids Tips
1. Ordering.
The most important aspect of your bridesmaid dress selection is timing. Bridesmaid dresses take about 8-10 weeks to arrive once the order has been placed. Bridesmaid orders are placed once all bridesmaids have placed a 50% deposit and have confirmed or chosen a size. All delivery times are approximate, so be sure that you are allowing enough time for your peace of mind. Although it is a rare occurrence, the manufacturer can be delayed beyond our control. If you feel that you do not have enough time for your order, please contact us for rush order information.

2. Measurements.
Arzelle's prefers to measure your local bridesmaids for the most accurate size suggestion. If you have out of town bridesmaids, we suggest that they are professionally measured at a bridal store. Out of town bridesmaids can use our online measurement form. Bridesmaid gowns tend to run small so keep in mind that the size suggested will probably be larger than her normal size.

3. Arrival and Fittings.
Once the bridesmaid order has been placed it will be approximately 8-10 weeks before the bride is notified of the dress arrivals. At this time, we will confirm any shipping information as well as discuss balance payment and pickup information. Bridesmaids are welcome to make an appointment with our custom fittings department for their alterations. Arzelle's suggests that you schedule alterations appointments 3-4 weeks prior to desired date of completion.

No appointment is necessary for the bridesmaids department.
Remember, out of town maids can order by phone or by using our online measurement form. Thank you for choosing Arzelle's to outfit your wedding party!

Groom and Groomsman Tips
1. Selecting Formalwear
Upon entering our formalwear department, you will begin tuxedo 101 where different options and formalwear “dos and don’ts” will be demonstrated. If you are the groom or are purchasing formalwear, we will pull different items for you to try on and consider. If needed, colors and styles can be compared with your wedding party’s bridesmaids dress or the wedding gown.

2. Measuring
For your in town attendants and guests we prefers to perform the measurements to ensure the best possible fit. Out of town groomsmen? No problem. They can go to a formalwear shop in their area to be measured then call, email, or fax the measurements directly. Click on the out-of-town measurements form for the required measurements.

3. Custom Tailoring
When renting a tuxedo you generally pick up 1-2 days prior to your event. At this time, the groom or groomsmen will try everything on and any custom tailoring will be done while you wait.
